Dr. Durnwald is Professor of OB/GYN in the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Durnwald is the Director of the Perinatal Diabetes Program at Penn and MFM fellowship director. She has served as site-PI for NICHD funded multicenter trials evaluating treatment strategies for individuals with type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes; as well as large prospective cohorts evaluating the use of continuous glucose monitors (CGM) to better characterize glycemic profiles indicative of a diagnosis of gestational diabetes and adverse perinatal outcomes independent of a GDM diagnosis. She is interested in use of diabetes technology, most specifically CGM, to improve perinatal outcomes associated with all type of diabetes in pregnancy.
