Dr. Josefson is a pediatric endocrinologist at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and a researcher at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She studies the developmental origins of metabolic disease investigating the near- and long-term outcomes of children exposed to adverse maternal metabolic environments, including gestational diabetes and obesity. The overarching goal of her research program is to reduce the public health burden of childhood metabolic diseases and the long-term consequences of gestational exposures by identifying high risk children early and facilitating targeted interventions.
