    REALIFE Research group

In 2006 RD started a new research line on the study of obesity and pregnancy within the Department of Development and Regeneration, KU Leuven. Since then, this research line has expanded and is now a solid research group with a very multidisciplinary approach and important academic output. The methodology is qualitative and quantitative and includes epidemiologic studies but also prospective cohort studies and intervention trials on the effects of lifestyle interventions in pregnancy and in the postpartum. Currently, there are six ongoing PhD projects and several Master projects. The group also includes the first ever KUL ZAP midwife (Prof. A. Bogaerts) and a part-time bio-statistician (L. Ameye).
